Lights &
WiRing
Victory Lane Outdoors diagnoses and repairs trailer lighting and wiring problems to keep your camper visible, legal, and safe to tow. Our technicians troubleshoot and repair the full trailer lighting circuit from the 7-pin connector at the hitch all the way back to the tail lights, including brake lights, turn signals, running lights, marker lights, clearance lights, reverse lights, and license plate lights. We trace wiring faults, test for voltage drop, locate corroded grounds, repair chafed or damaged wiring, and replace failed bulbs, sockets, lenses, and sealed light assemblies.
Trailer wiring runs through areas that are constantly exposed to road spray, debris, weather, and vibration — and connections that were fine last season can corrode or break loose over a single winter in storage.
We also inspect and repair the 7-pin and 4-pin connector assemblies at the tongue, which are the single most common failure point in trailer lighting. A connector with corroded pins, loose wiring, or a bad ground will cause intermittent or complete loss of brake lights and turn signals — something you may not notice from the driver's seat until someone tells you or you get pulled over. We replace connectors, rewire pigtails, and make sure the ground connection to the trailer frame is clean and solid.

When to Schedule?
If your trailer's wiring has been repaired multiple times, spliced together with electrical tape, or has deteriorated to the point where problems keep coming back, a full rewire is often the most cost-effective solution. We run new wiring harnesses using the correct gauge wire, weatherproof connectors, and proper routing and protection to give you a lighting system that works reliably without constant troubleshooting. We also upgrade incandescent lighting to LED — which draws less power, lasts significantly longer, responds faster on brake application, and is far more visible to drivers behind you.
You should test all trailer lights before every trip — have someone stand behind the camper while you cycle through running lights, brake lights, both turn signals, and hazards. If anything isn't working, schedule service before you tow. We also recommend a full wiring inspection as part of your annual pre-season service, especially if your camper is more than a few years old or has been stored outdoors. Wiring issues get worse over time, not better, and a full lighting failure at highway speed on a dark road is not something you want to experience.
