What Is Included In Winterization
Every boat that comes through our service bay receives a thorough, top-to-bottom winterization — not a rushed checklist. We start by fogging the engine cylinders with a protective oil coating that shields internal surfaces from corrosion throughout the off-season. From there, we flush the entire cooling system and fill it with marine-safe antifreeze to prevent freeze damage to the engine block, thermostat housing, and water pump. We treat the fuel tank with a quality stabilizer and run it through the full system to prevent varnish buildup, gumming, and long-term damage to injectors or carburetors.
We also inspect and service the lower unit, draining and replacing the gear lube while checking for water intrusion that could indicate a failing seal — something that's easy to miss and expensive to ignore. Your battery gets cleaned, tested, and properly disconnected or placed on a maintenance charge so it's ready to perform when spring arrives. Finally, we walk through your boat's storage setup to make sure it's covered and positioned correctly to minimize moisture, UV exposure, and any unwanted visitors over the winter months.
